Perrie Edwards said, “I think everyone has their own insecurities, and we want to be able to to teach our younger fans, boy fans, girl fans, every fan that we have that being yourself is enough and you should embrace your own insecurities because that's what make you different and unique.”
the cover of the song “woman like me”https://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/a868254/little-mix-nicki-minaj-new-single-woman-like-me-listen/“Little Mix” is a British girl group consisting of four members: Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards. Little Mix has already released five albums - DNA, Salute, Get Weird, Glory Days, and LM5. They won British Artist Video of the Year in the 2019 Brit Awards, and they broke the 20-year record of the Spice Girls' UK chart record. They released the fifth album called “LM5” in November 16th, 2018. ”LM5” includes many of my favorite songs.

I regard them as my HERO for a few reasons.
First of all, I admire the spirit that they have worked for female rights. One of the members, Jade, said, "I was so angry about what was going on. It was important to write it with Jez, who is a supportive male friend. It holds an important message. I thought it was about time we did a female empowerment song that was very specific about what was going on in the world." Woman's World was inspired by the #MeToo anti-sexual harassment campaign, which describes that women are treated in an unfair way, including overwork, low pay and so on. The song conveys the message that women shouldn't hide anymore, and women should stand up and speak out for themselves. We are all people, and nobody should be at the mercy of anyone. We all should be treated in an equal way, right?
Second, they hold mental health issues in high regard. For Perrie, she recently updated her status and has a new post, which elaborates on her mental health problems. She has suffered from serious anxiety and panic attacks for a few years, undergoing self-suspect, fear, helplessness, and claustrophobia, which makes her unable to stay in a closed place for a long time, in some transportation, like cars and trains. Afterward, she went to a therapist. Fortunately, the panic attacks have stopped; however, she still can't get rid of anxiety. However, the disappearance of her panic attacks makes her stronger to confront the disease. Perrie was too scared to face her mental problems at first. She said that the feeling is strange for her, and she doesn't even know how to express her situation to others, causing her to believe she was alone. She found she's not the only person going through this afterward, and she feels it's much easier than before. At the same time, she appeals to people who should open up to somebody timely, for it'll help them release massive stress. She wants to tell people that if they also suffer from a similar illness, don't be afraid, because they are not alone.
Third, Leigh-Anne mentioned her unknowing past to the public and the unpleasant experience. She said she used to search “Leigh Anne from Little Mix,” “the black girl in Little Mix” to see the comments, and she also felt she's invisible in the first three years of Little Mix. In my opinion, the reason why she would feel that way is because she doesn't have confidence, due to her skin and race. Over a few years, she finally understands that she doesn't have to feel ashamed about her identity, and she embraces and loves this feature because this is exactly who she is. Leigh-Anne also mentioned that they were underestimated by people when they had a contest on X Factor (a television music competition). People think they won't be successful, just because they're women, but Little Mix won the contest and proved them wrong. Woman can do as good as men do, so we shouldn't have a prejudice against women.
the cover of the song “strip”https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/jan/05/little-mix-on-piers-morgan-body-shaming-and-simon-cowelLast but not least, I want to talk about the songs ”Strip” and ”The Cure” in their fifth album, LM5. For ”Strip,” the song recounts a course of internal struggle for Little Mix. The lyrics describe that the girls are attached on many kinds of labels, including criticism, racial discrimination, and personal attacks, but now they don't care about those verbal attacks anymore, and they embrace those defects that they can't change, and also love the identity they have. Being who you are and loving the way you are is what Little Mix wants to tell us. For ”The Cure” describes every person would be in a dilemma sometimes, and then cause your life getting stuck and make you from keeping moving on. Maybe the difficulty makes people a little bit frustrated, but the most important thing is picking yourself up, and adjusting the mentality, set out again. It always boosts my spirits while I listen to the song. I can feel my mind cured by the song.
In summary, I love the songs and performances of Little Mix, but I love their passion, fearlessness, and courage more. What Little Mix has done is so incredible. Even though I'm a man, I am touched by their movement. They taught me to embrace and love my own identity, and face difficulty head-on. They encourage and inspire me a lot, making me become a brave and confident boy. In my eyes, they're the most influential and powerful women, and they are always my role model.
