Queen Elizabeth I

Queen Elizabeth I is my hero because she was able to be a great ruler under immense pressure and criticism. She proved that she could rule just as well as a man could and ended up being better. She inspired me to be an individual, to not change oneself for the sake of tradition and rule. She has shown me that a woman can do anything she wants if she puts her mind to it. She refused to be told what to do and did not follow others. She chose to lead rather than follow. She was told that she would never be Queen, but she persevered and is one of England’s greatest monarchs. Proof of her perseverance is her refusal to marry. She did not need a man to be capable of being Queen. Elizabeth has taught me to be an individual and be a leader and not a follower.
