When you ask someone, "Who's your hero?" Many will name a fictional character - someone "cool" or always fighting for good. But to me, a true hero isn't defined by superpowers or fame. A hero is someone with the courage to keep fighting, even when success isn't guaranteed. Someone who fails, stumbles, and rises again - not for glory, but for love.
That hero is my mother.
My mother is a fighter. My whole life, she has battled just to put a smile on my face. Through every hardship she never gave up. Her stories reveal her strength: growing up in India, she struggled in school but pushed herself to improve. Then, life struck harder - she lost her father far too young. Yet instead of surrendering to grief, she fought harder. She worked tirelessly, earned a job, secured a visa and built a new life in the U.S. She married, settled down, and then - I came into her world.
I wasn't always easy to raise. I caused trouble, made mistakes, and demanded more than I gave. But no matter what, my mother sacrificed. She put her own dreams aside to ensure mine had a chance. She stumbled, she ached, but she never stopped. And now, because of her fight, she stands as the happiest, most successful person I know - not by wealth or fame, but by the love she created.
I've never fully thanked her. So here it is: "Thank you, Mom. For every sleepless night, every silent sacrifice, every battle you fought for me. You are my hero - not because you never fell, but because you always rose. I love you."
