CC BY-SA 4.0Marie-Amélie Le Fur is a French disabled athlete. She was born in Vendôme on the September 26, 1988. She has practiced athletics since she was 6 years old. On March 31, 2004, when she was only 16, she had a terrible scooter accident. That's why she had her left leg amputated below the knee. However, she started running again four months later on July 31, 2004. It's really impressive. Since then, due to her disability, she takes part in the T44 category, a category of Paralympic Games, and it's reserved for amputee athletes.
CC BY-SA 3.0In the Paralympic Games, she won eight medals, including two gold that she won at the Rio edition. She won too twelve world medals, including four championship titles. She is very strong because she broke the women's world record in long jump with a distance of 5.43 meters on June 23, 2012. I look up to her because she has managed to make her disability a strength. She said, "Make your life a dream, and a dream a reality," and it represents her life.
