Martin Luther king jr

by Ashley Picazo from Brooklyn , New York in United States

”I have a dream.” Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., and he died on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 39. When Martin Luther King Jr was 6 years old, his grandmother died, and he got upset, and he learned that she had had a heart attack. It was hard for Martin Luther King Jr. because there were a lot of people who judged him by their skin color. He tried to achieve freedom; he wanted everyone to be equal, and he also led a march for voting rights. He defended civil disobedience, even after he died, people didn’t forget about him, all his life's work has inspired other people/leaders who struggle for equality. His words and speeches changed the world. Perseverance and leadership, these heroic character traits make Martin Luther king jr a good person. Martin Luther King Jr. helped people by dedicating his life to advancing civil rights, equality, and freedom. I look up to Martin Luther King Jr. because from him we can learn how to respect/love others and not hate others.
