Mary Eliza Mahoney (1845 - 1926)

So dedicated to the notion of nursing was Mary Mahoney, that she worked for free as a nurse's assistant for 15 years. She then went after her nursing credentials and graduated in 1905.
In 1908 she cofounded the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses (NACGN).
