https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_MooreMy hero is Maya Moore. She is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx. Sports Illustrated called Maya Moore the greatest winner in the history of women's basketball. In the 2018 season, she was voted into the 2018 WNBA All-Star game and won her third All-Star MVP award. In February 2019, Moore wrote for The Players' Tribute that she would miss the upcoming season to focus on family and ministry dreams.
Maya Moore was born on June 11, 1989, in Jefferson City, Missouri. She grew up playing basketball since she was three, when her mother put up a basketball hoop in the back of their apartment. Maya grew up with just her mother and siblings. She has two sisters, named Olivia Dabney and Ashley Dabney. Moore's younger sister Olivia Dabney plays basketball for Rutgers Preparatory School and is a rising star in New Jersey. The other sister, Ashley Dabney, was a track and field athlete in college.
Maya Moore is a great inspiration and hero in my life. She inspires me to do my best in basketball and practice every day to improve. I enjoy watching her play basketball because it encourages me to try new skills. I am very sad that she will be sitting out this season to focus on family and ministry dreams. I hope that she will decide to play next season so I can watch her play. One day, I dream of becoming a professional basketball player just like Maya Moore.
