My hero is Jeremy McGrath. Jeremy McGrath is a professional super cross racer, or dirt biker. He retired before the 2003 season started. I am studying Jeremy McGrath because he is major dirt bike rider, and I love to dirt bike. When I go riding, I have fun and make new friends.
Jeremy has won many events in super cross. He has won the Super Cross Championship seven times. He has twelve championship titles. He is a two-time Western champion. In the year 2000, he won the X-games step-up. He has also set many records. One of the records was most wins in a single season. He had seventy-two career victories and twelve super cross wins.
Jeremy McGrath was born in Menifee, CA and he now lives in southern California. McGrath is married to a girl named Kim. McGrath’s first bike was a mini bike powered by a Briggs and Staton lawnmower motor. A big thing about Jeremy McGrath is he stays out of trouble. Jeremy didn’t only ride dirt bikes but by his mid-teens he was one of the best BMX rider’s in the world.
Jeremy's nickname is nac nac. Jeremy was named nac nac because every time he would win a race he would do the trick called nac nac. Jeremy’s hero was his Dad. Jeremy has looked up to his dad a lot of years. Jeremy’s challenge is what he will do after retiring. Jeremy’s closest family is his sister, his mom, and his dad. Jeremy’s hobbies are tennis golf, BMX, 50cc dirt bike riding, jet skiing, and boating.
One of Jeremy’s life goals was to become a super cross champion. I think that a goal would be to not get many injuries, because if you injure yourself during the circuit you could be done for good that year. Other goals might be to make an impact or make the world a better place or to become the best rider in the world. Finally, another goal is to become a free-style moto X champion. A struggle for Jeremy was when he had to retire from the sport of motocross. He has also struggled with injuries. For example, he broke his wrist in New Orleans. Jeremy is one of those riders that hardly falls. I think a struggle would be getting known to the sport. Another struggle would be mechanical break-downs. For example, if a part broke down on my dirt bike, I would find the problem then replace the broken part. Jeremy McGrath was very important to the sport in a large way. He's set many records but the most important reason for his impact on the sport is that he is not a trouble-maker. Jeremy has changed many lives in this sport, including mine. And for many reasons, Jeremy McGrath is important. The best reason is because he is a role model and sets good examples for children today. That is why Jeremy McGrath is my hero.
If you had the courage to stand you would be a brave man
You could fly in the air
And sometimes wish you weren’t there
If you had the courage to stand
If you had the courage to stand
Like McGrath you would lend a helping hand
And do all you can to teach
If you had the courage to stand
If you had the courage to stand
You could be a talented man
You can win events and be very intense in riding
If you had the courage to stand
