MY HERO SALON TO CELEBRATE THE TALENTS OF DEAF ENTERTAINERS
SANTA MONICA, CA – 4/17/15 – Next month, The MY HERO Project will host a celebration of Deaf Entertainers in Music, Film and on the Stage. The May 8th event is part of the monthly Salon Series at the Capshaw-Spielberg Center for Arts & Educational Justice at New Roads School in Santa Monica. The Salon Series brings together community leaders and citizens to discuss and explore important timely issues.
The Salon will feature music video performances of Deaf Professional Arts network (D-PAN) as well as a panel discussion on accessibility in the arts, media and film. D-PAN Music video producers will share behind their scenes insights and experts will discuss film and video captioning and audio description for the blind. In addition, special guest appearances will be announced.
The Salon is free, open to the public and appropriate for all ages. A sign language expert will interpret the event. Join us Friday, May 8th, from 7-9pm, at:

The MY HERO Project is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to sharing stories of everyday heroes from all walks of life. MY HERO’s free educational resources serve students, teachers and families in 194 countries.
The Capshaw-Spielberg Center for Arts and Educational Justice is the home to a dozen nonprofit partners who share the communal goal of providing educational programming for at-risk youth in Los Angeles.
