Milton Hershey

by David from Longmont, Colorado

Milton Hershey was born on September 13, 1857. He was a hero because he changed the chocolate industry. He was a creator, and he was driven and selfless.

Milton got a job making candy. In the 1900s, he invented Milk Chocolate Bars, which were really popular in the United States. In 1907, he invented Hershey Kisses. The Kisses were small, round, with a pointed tip. They are popular even today. Back then, the chocolate was just okay, but Hershey made it better. Before, only rich people could afford it, but through the creation of his bars, everyone could enjoy the snack.

Milton was driven. He wanted to start a chocolate business. In 1876, he started his first chocolate business. He made chocolate bars for awhile, but in 1882, his business failed. He never gave up. In 1886, he started his fifth candy business. In 1905, his new factory opened. It was his final one and it was huge.

Those are the reasons why Milton Hershey was a hero. Milton was a good man, and he was helpful to all people. Everyone loved his chocolate, and even to this day his chocolate is popular. Milton was driven. He never stopped trying.

In conclusion, throughout his lifetime, he was driven, selfless, and an inventor. This all makes him a great man.
