This is what Michelle LaVaughn Robinson did her whole life. She tested out of the 2nd grade, and entered into a program outside of school for gifted children. Passing people becoming the best that she could be for herself and for her family was who she was. Michelle Lavaughn Robinson was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Princeton University, along with her brother , Craig Robinson. She then went to Harvard Law School, from 1985 - 1988, to pursue a career as a lawyer. Michelle was accepted into Sidley Austin, the best law firm in all of Chicago, where she met her husband Barack Obama. Making her now, Michelle Obama. To be a hero you must be determined and confident. You must have the mental capacity to stand your ground even when the times got tough. Michelle Obama is a hero because of her determination and work that ensures the safety of tomorrow's children.

123351Michelle at the Let's Move CampaignBET.comPeople tried to put her down and stop her from success but the drive that she had to succeed was far too strong for anyone who was getting in her way. Life can be unfair. But overcoming obstacles is simply a part of it and paving the future is what counts. ¨After nearly three years at Sidley Austin, she was unhappy with the long hours and pressures of corporate law and began considering a career in public service. She started networking intensely about a year before she left, and that led to a plum offer as an assistant in Mayor Richard Daley's office¨ (Gale Biography in Context). Michelle was not afraid to take this huge step in her life. She knew what she wanted and never looked back. She didn't let fear keep her from doing what she was meant to do. Obama knew that this decision would be hard, When she worked at Sibley Austin she could flap her wings, but if she did what she was meant to do she would soar. She followed the words of Confucius: Choose a job that you love, and you will  never work a day in your life. Obama learned that helping people was her passion so she decided to become a public servant. ¨Over time, she honed in on the escalating obesity rate in children as the appropriate rallying focus. That focus was codified as the first lady's signature project with the launch of the Let's Move campaign in February of 2010¨ (Gale Biography in Context, Gale, 2010). Michelle worked harder than most because the work that she was doing wasn't just for her, but for the children of America and families over the country struggling with obesity. Whenever she started a project or campaign she always rose to the occasion by finishing it with a job well done. With her driven attitude she can accomplish anything with time.

123333Michelle Obama for The New York Timesnytimes.com Michelle Obama constantly shows massive arrays of confidence in herself and family that lift the spirits of millions. Having a boost of confidence is what everyone needs to get the job done right and get through the day. ¨As Barack's presidential campaign progressed, Michelle took on a more central role, giving speeches and attending events¨ (Contemporary Black Biography, vol. 61, Gale, 2007). Not only did she believe in her own abilities to run Barack's campaign but she also had confidence in her husband as well. Making speeches and appearances at her husband's many events really show did she was confident in his ability to become the president of the United States. Starting off the year with a nation as your audience Michelle Obama kept it together, kept her head up, and kept working.  Obama has also worked to increase awareness of childhood obesity in the United States, urging parents and children alike to make more informed decisions about what they eat and to remember to exercise regularly ¨ (Contemporary Black Biography, vol. 61, Gale, 2007).  Her self-confidence to be a leading lady makes her stand out in the world of women in politics. She was not afraid to use her husband's presidential campaign as a platform to get her project up and running and change the game. Confidence can take people to places they'd never imagine they'd be.

Her heroism is set by the determination that got her to where she is and the confidence that made it easier to stay there. Michelle has done some spectacular things our community and nation. She has solved simple struggles as a law firm partner. And helped raise awareness about the serious matter of child obesity in the US as the first African American first lady of the United States. Michelle Obama inspires me and others because of her open mind and warm heart to ease the mind of world citizens. She is the calm in the storm of hatred and sadness, she's the hope for tomorrow and the key to success, she is love.
