My hero inspires me to fight for what I believe in, be brave, do things in a peaceful way, and be self-disciplined. Years ago, African Americans were unable to vote or do certain things, and Martin Luther King, Jr. fought for what he believed in, the rights of the "Black" people. He inspires me to fight for what I believe in which is for no racial discrimination in all of the United States of America. Even though they say the U.S. is a free country, people from different countries are still sometimes discriminated against throughout this country today.

Heroes are brave and courageous and Martin Luther King, Jr. was exactly that. He knew that if you were a black and you used "White" things or went to "White" places, you could be easily put into jail. Martin Luther King, Jr. though, was brave enough to do those things. He was also brave enough to start protest speeches in front of "Whites" even though he knew that he could get killed by an angry "White."

Martin Luther King, Jr. not only fought for what he believed in, but he did it in a peaceful way. Instead of literally fighting the United States, he just did simple things like a bus boycott. He believed that violence was never the answer, and so do I. I believe that if you do things in a peaceful way instead of a violent way, you can achieve what you are fighting for.

Heroes are self-disciplined and Martin Luther King, Jr. was just that. Martin Luther King, Jr. was teased, taunted and his house was even bombed. Even though these things happened, he kept his anger in and stayed calm. If these things happened to other people, they would probably not be able to keep their anger in and would react in a violent way. Martin Luther King, Jr., however, kept his anger in. He inspires me to keep in my anger and be calm.

Martin Luther King, Jr. is my hero and he is a hero to many other people, too. He is my hero because he inspires me to do so many things. He inspires me to fight for what I believe in, be brave, do things in a peaceful way, and be self-disciplined. There are other people that have done spectacular things and are a hero to people, but Martin Luther King, Jr. is MY hero. Because of him, I think of things in a different way. He kind of changed my heart, too. All I can say now is thank you for being who you were.
