Ms. Clarissa

What I Learned

Before I met Ms. Clarissa, I was worried she would be evil!

That her homework load would be medieval

But as soon as I met her, I changed my mind

Because Ms. Clarissa is really kind

She taught me the magic of helping others

Because the whole world should be my sisters and brothers

She taught me how to move people’s hearts to change their minds

So they don’t continue to be so blind

She encouraged me to leap over walls when I am stuck

Instead of burying myself in the muck

Ms. Clarissa also taught me poetry so I won’t feel alone

Poetry connects your heart to others so you don’t feel like a lonely stone

Speaking and writing in pictures also helps me be heard and seen

So I don’t become an invisible teen

From making movies with Ms. Clarissa,

I found out I have superpowers I never knew I had

Being able to help others keeps me from being sad

I also found out I can write a book!

So I don’t become a thieving crook

So basically I have developed my kindness compass

And learned to create magic out of air

But most important, I have learned to care
