Eddie Murphy

Everyone has a different view of a hero. For me, a hero never gives up. A hero works hard, is modest, forgiving, believes the faith of Christianity, has a good sense of humor, and cares for others. He seems to be an all around good person. Eddie Murphy is just such a person. He never gives up. He is a Baptist, hilarious, and cares for others.

Eddie Murphy was born on April 3, 1961. His parents divorced when he was three, and his father died when he was five. As you can tell, he went through a lot when he was really young, so it must have been really hard growing up.

When Murphy was in the eighth grade, he put on a performance which the audience loved. This event spurred him on to his future career as a comedian. Since then, he has gone to bars, clubs, and other places to be a comedian. He worked hard on what he wanted to be. However, he worked so hard that he had to repeat the tenth grade. Because of that, he worked a lot harder and never gave up. He doubled up on classes and started attending summer and night school. He graduated only a couple of months late. He worked very hard and, by the end of high school, was voted “most popular boy in graduating class.”

After that he went to college, which was his mother’s wish. This shows he cares for his mother and that he does believe in education. Education and caring for others are things that all heroes should have. Heroes should set the example that children should go to college and care for others.

Movies he performs in also must say something about himself. For instance, the movie, Dr. Do Little. If he did not like animals, he would not have participated in the movie. Another movie he was in was Holy Man, which implies he must be somewhat religious. One thing I look for in a hero is how big on religion he is. Though Eddie Murphy is not that big, he said that he goes to a Baptist church every once in awhile.

Eddie Murphy has won many awards. This is the positive side of acting and being a comedian. However, he has also received many bad comments. So, he took a break from acting. Acting and being a comedian come with both good and bad things. Be careful what you do.

Though Murphy went through a horrible young childhood, he stayed away from drinking, smoking, and drugs. Later, he would declare to a reporter, “I don’t have to sniff cocaine to make me funny.” All children should definitely follow this example. Drugs, drinking, and smoking are all the things teens have major problems with. These things kill people and no kids should do any of these.

In conclusion, Eddie Murphy is my hero. He sets a good example by not drinking, not doing drugs, or smoking. He also shows how great being a comedian and acting can be. However, there are the difficulties of doing so. Eddie Murphy inspires me and he is so funny. Eddie Murphy is my hero.
