My grandfather, my hero

by Mahnoor Khurram from Islamabad in Pakistan

My grandfather, my hero

I would like to narrate a real life story about my hero, who is my grandfather Muhammad Hanif Shahid. He lived from 1939 to 2018. He spent his childhood in a destitute situation with his cruel stepmother. Besides the circumstances, he was very hard worker. He was sent to an orphanage where he initiated his dream of writing books. Moreover, he started his career with job in the Punjab public library. After a couple of years, he got a job in King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He wrote countless books day and night on different topics. Here are the names of his few books:

Iqbal ki kahani, tributes to QuaideAzam, Iqbal aur Punjab Council, Sir sheikh Abdul Qadir, NAzre IQbal, IQbal the great poet of Islam, All India Muslim league, Mufaqerepakistan, QuaideAzam message to the students, Nishanehaider (book is about martyr army officers of Pakistan), why Islam is our only choice, Yes, I converted to Islam, and here is why. Why women are accepting Islam. By reading these books, many non-Muslims accepted/embraced Islam and wrote letters from different countries. He wrote more than 80 books. Many of his books are available at Library of Congress, one a public library of America, Punjab public library. In addition to these achievements, he was awarded by Marquis who's who in the world, certificate of Achievements, writers club 1996.

I have not heard and seen about such a great scholar and writer in my life. Manyb of his unpublished work is ready, but he couldn't publish them in his life. He left us without getting any big award from my country, Pakistan. I expect my article to be published so that people will get to know that not only actors, doctors, pilots are heroes, there are heroes who liked to devote their entire life for reading and writing.
