MY HERO Project's "The Art of Healing" Gala to Support Media Arts Education Programs Promoting Healing and Wellness

The MY HERO Project is excited to announce "The Art of Healing" Gala, an evening of celebration and support for media arts education programs promoting healing and wellness. The event will take place on April 29th, from 6:30pm - 9:30pm, at the Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Drive, Laguna Beach, CA 98267.

The MY HERO Project has been changing lives one story at a time since 1995. Through media, art, and technology, MY HERO brings hope and inspiration to millions of people around the world each year, forming a global learning community online through their Film Festival and educational programs. By sponsoring the Gala, attendees can expand MY HERO's reach and impact in media arts programs, teacher training, model curricula, and contests that reward and celebrate those creating positive media.

"The Art of Healing" Gala will support MY HERO's media arts education programs designed to promote healing, wellness, and positive role models to students of all ages around the world. The event will feature live jazz music by the Stuart Pearlman Jazz Ensemble, inspiring honorees including Kathy Eldon, author, filmmaker, and poet, Ron Kovic, artist, NYT's best-selling author, Golden Globe-winning screenwriter, and peace activist, and Barbara and Greg MacGillivray, IMAX filmmakers capturing amazing stories for over 50 years.

"We are thrilled to honor these incredible individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting healing, wellness, and positive role models through their creative work," says Jeanne Meyers, MY HERO's co-founder. "This Gala is an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and raise support for our vital education programs."

Funds raised at the event will support MY HERO's media arts education programs, including the MY HERO International Film Festival, now in its 19th year. The festival brings together professional filmmakers and students from around the world and honors unsung heroes who work for social justice, to protect the environment, to promote equity and inclusion, and who are dedicated to working for peace.

With support from attendees, MY HERO will continue to provide a lifeline to people in need and connect people across the globe through the inspiring stories of heroism shared with essays, art, music, and short films on MY HERO's growing media library.
