In my artwork titled Christ is the Hero, I used white chalk on black paper to create a striking contrast that symbolizes light overcoming darkness. The choice of white on black represents purity, hope, and salvation shining through sin, suffering, and despair. By working with chalk, a fragile and easily erasable medium, I wanted to express the idea that life is temporary and imperfect, yet faith in Christ brings lasting strength and redemption.
The inclusion of text in the artwork emphasizes the message that Christ’s heroism lies not in physical power, but in spiritual sacrifice, love, and forgiveness. The words serve as both visual and emotional anchors, guiding the viewer to reflect on the depth of His compassion and courage.
Through this piece, I aim to honour Christ as the ultimate hero — one who gave His life for humanity and continues to inspire faith, hope, and transformation. The simplicity of the materials and the monochromatic palette draw attention to the power of the message rather than the medium, reinforcing that true heroism is found in humility and sacrifice.
