MY HERO TO CELEBRATE ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY AT THE RIVIAN SOUTH COAST THEATER
SEPTEMBER 5, 2025, LAGUNA BEACH, CA - In celebration of The MY HERO Project’s three decades of sharing hero stories, the Rivian South Coast Theater will host a special anniversary event.
Join us, on September 20th, for an evening of inspiring short films and stimulating conversation. MY HERO has been online since August of 1995 and we consider ourselves fortunate to have been able to honor many local Laguna heroes over the years.
Esteemed author and educator Esther Wojcicki will be joining us for the event. Wokcicki is an advocate for innovative approaches to learning and is a champion of MY HERO. She sponsors the annual ‘WOJ’ Youth Reporter Award at the MY HERO International Film Festival and wrote the foreword section for the new MY HERO Journalism & Filmmaker Workbook, which is used in elementary through high school classrooms around the country.
The first 50 people will receive printed copies of the workbook and all guests will receive a complementary digital download.
Special thanks to Coast Film Festival and Rivian South Coast Theater, who are sponsoring our 30th Anniversary Celebration and for helping us remind the community that heroes have the power to inspire us all.
The event takes place:
Saturday, September 20th
7pm - 9 pm (doors open at 630)
Rivian South Coast Theater
162 S Coast Hwy
Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Admission is free but reservations are required.
