Nelson Mandela was one of the world's greatest, thanks to his involvement in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. He fought for an egalitarian and democratic South African society. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 and elected in 1994 as the President of the Black Republic of South Africa.
