The Pet Fair was a huge success with over 400 people from our community. There were craft tables, face paint, tacos, a photo booth, ice cream, and most importantly there wereinformational booths. The whole idea of the Pet Fair was to decrease thenumber of neglected pets in our neighborhood. Everybody had a great time. We are very proud of what we have done.
Hero is a strong word only used for certain people. Heroes are people that risk their lives to save others. Heroes don't do it for attention; they do it because they care. Heroes put their lives in danger in order for them to save somebody. They might bescared, but that doesn't matter. Heroes provide encouragement. Martin LutherKing Jr. and Cesar Chavez are heroes because they fought for their humanrights. People that donate blood or organs are saving many lives. Adults andchildren that help kids that are being bullied are heroes because they arehelping others be safe. Doctors and firefighters work their hardest to save many lives every day. The Military, Marines, and Air Force are heroes that protect our country. Animal shelter volunteers and veterinarians are saving cute animals that are found on the streets. Animal shelter volunteers save the animals before they get killed and find them a home. A true hero can do anything to save or help others.
The entire motive of ourclass's struggles is to accomplish one simple, but yet challenging task: to show awareness to our community about the number of neglected pets, and to reduce the amount that roam around our neighborhood. The first step we took wasthe planning. We came up with the concept of our school hosting a community PetFair. Once we were granted permission from our PTO, the plan was a GO. Ourentire class planning consisted of seven groups; this would include the Posters, the Flyers, the T-Shirts, the Crafting Tables, the Photo Booth, Face Painting and lastly the Logistics. Our official launch date is April 25th and will open from 11am to 2pm. We plan to hang up student made posters at local stores and markets, hand out flyers prior to the event and wear T-shirts to advertise the event. We still have a long way to go and all the project teams are working their hardest to make this event turn out smoothly.
