Felix Gonzalez-Torres is an openly gay man who speaks up the the LGBTQ+ community with his mostly candy artwork.
- Felix Gonzalez-Torres is well known for his colorful work with candy. He arranges them in a way that looks like the Pride flag.
- Felix Gonzalez-Torres is a hero because he inspires others to have more empathy towards LGBTQ+ community.
- Felix Gonzalez-Torres was a Cuban-American artist born in 1957. He was an openly gay man who used his art work to represent lost and other culturally relevant topics. Torres used interactive materials such as paper candy and more, these materials encouraged people to play and touch and feel.
- Torres suffered a loss from the HIV/AIDS pandemic; he was diagnosed with HIV himself. While sadly his partner Ross Laycock died from AIDS related sickness in the year of January 24, 1991. This cause is what inspired his artwork on LGBTQ+ people, specifically those with HIV/AIDS. This work inspired millions to empathize to LGBTQ+.
- Torres has spoken up to gay people and proved their value through his artwork. He has changed the way people, men, women, girls, boys and mixed-gender think about gay people and all of LGBTQ+ community.
- As an openly gay man, Torres always tried and showed generosity by speaking up to LGBTQ+ in a nice way with his interactive and fun artwork.
