One of the reasons that I and many other people love Lil Wayne so much is because he does things his own way. When he's is about to write a new song, he does not write it down in pen and paper. He goes into the studio and does what he has to do. Lil Wayne was one of the Hot Boys,a rap group associated with Cash Money Records. His debut solo album,"Tha Block is Hot" was released in 1999. The title track was a hit. His second album was "2000's Lights Out, followed by "500 Degreez in 2002. In 2004 he released his latest solo album "The Carter".Lil Wayne grew up in the streets of New Orleans, Hollygrove section of the town. As a young rapper, Dwayne rapped at neighborhood parties and it was at one of those parties that he became aware of by group members of the U.N.L.V. that a group signed a contract for Cash Money Records. Wayne was given contract information and followed them up in autograph signing sessions where he met the Cash Money CEO's Brian "Baby" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams. An imprompt freestyle session led to serious consideration on the parts of the Williams Brothers. After Wayne found out the location and the phone number of Cash Money Records, he would visit on a daily basis after leavin a freestyles on the answering machines.
As Lil Wayne became more serious about rap industry he started to wear gang affiliated clothing, his mother became very concerned about the Williams Brothers through what she had heard out on the streets. She took Wayne out of Cash Money Records. However, after running away from home for a whole week, and convincing his mother that his unlikely behavior had nothing to do with the Williams Brothers he returned back to Cash Money Records. But before Cash Money Records made their big blow up, tradedy struck. While playing with a loaded gun one afternoon, Wayne shot himself in the chest and almost bled to death. When the police arrived Wayne claimed that the unregistered gun was his step-father's Reginald "Rabbit" Carter. When that happened, this landed Reginald six months in prison. A while after Rabbit had came home, he was abducted and murdered. When Brian came one day to pick up Wayne for a sturdio session he heard about what had happened, and he decided to raise Wayne as his own.
Why I think Lil Wayne is my hero is because of all the things that he has done or has seen. From him being the youngest in the Hot Boys to being shot in the chest by accident. Then finding out that his stepfather was murderded because that person thought that Wayne was going to die, and wanted revenge. I also admire Lil Wayne because of the things that he has accomplished like having bought Cash Money Records being the first to start saying the slang "Drop it Like it's Hot" in the album "Juvenile". What I think is a hero is someone that hasnt just had a perfect life the whole time that they have been alive but someone that has actually gone through challenges not just simple ones but some that you actually have to fight for. Thats what I think a hero is,and thats why I think Lil Wayne is my hero.
Another reason that Lil Wayne is my hero is because of his lyrics. its something about his music that makes me want to express myself in different ways. But also his music makes me wonder about his past, like did he ever have one good moment in his life that he could remember for the rest of the time that he is alive.
