What do you think of when you hear thug life? Do you think of guns, violence, gangs, drugs, and people getting shot? The greatest rapper of his time and ours thinks thug life means peace, community, love, and happiness. He doesn’t listen to what people say about the hood, and how bad it is. He proves them wrong by preaching right. Despite his rough home life, Tupac is inspiring because he grew up with a rough life, he spoke the truth and care about what he did.

In his early years, he grew up with no father in East Harlem and his mom had a serious drug addiction. Along with drugs, Afeni Shakur had a major alcohol problem and was very poor. Tupac’s alleged father was William Garland, and he was claimed to only have given his son $852 and a bag of peanuts. His stepfather was a part of the FBI’S top ten most wanted for helping his cousin escape from a prison in New Jersey. His cousin had shot and killed a state trooper.

In many of his movies, documentaries, and songs, he spoke the truth. He said what was up with the world in his eyes. He never was two faced and told how he felt through song. He made choices that showed who he was, he did do bad stuff but had the best intentions. He only was arrested about three times and only found guilty for one charge. His only charge was a sexual harassment charge, because he had brought a girl to a hotel, had consensual sex, fell asleep and then his friend’s gang raped her. She then told the police that he was a part of it.

Tupac preached that whatever you have to do to help your community, do it. He said if you had to sell weed, to make money to support your family, do it. But don’t go selling weed to get dope and not help the community or family. He also preached thug life because he that of his community as a family or gang. He made his way by helping his community. He wasn’t like most rappers or famous people, he didn’t donate to organizations like cancer research or that kind of help. He walked to a shelter and gave homeless people money, food, and security. He would help a bro out and not just leave them roaming the streets.

Basically Tupac was inspiring because he went through adversity that most people never see. Drugs, jail, abuse, violence, and ding were very likely for him. He got away from that and tried to change the world. It is sad that he succumbed to the death and how he died. He had so much going for him and so much love. Thug life, do or die.
