Mark Prior’s birth date is 9-7-1980. He grew up in San Diego, California. His mom was the vice principal at a local middle school there in San Diego. His dad Jerry grew up in Chicago and was a die-hard Cubs fan. Mark Prior was one of three children and they all followed in their father’s ways or “footsteps”. His mom and dad were both excellent tennis players who competed at a tennis division in San Diego.
When Mark Prior was a young boy, he was a Padres and Giants fan. So his father helped turn him into a Cubs fan. His idols were Nolan Ryan and Roger Clemens. He always wanted to be a big league pitcher from the time he was young. He played on the All-Stars baseball team and played first base and pitcher. His grandmother played catch with him when he was little. Mark Prior got a lot of support from his family.
Mark Prior pitches for the Cubs. Mark Prior is my hero because he helps me believe that anything is possible. He is also my hero because he has shown me where to pitch to strike someone out. By watching him play, I have gained a lot of self confidence. He has inspired me to do the best that I can.
He is my hero because he has won so many games for the Cubs and that is why they almost made it to the World Series last year. He has never given up when the Cubs were losing a game because he has good self confidence. That is why Mark Prior is my hero.
