Imagine racing at 200 MPH at the age of 49. That would be hard but Ralph Dale Earnhardt Sr. did just that till a wreck on the final lap of the Daytona 500 ended his life. Ralph went by the name Dale Sr. on the track. Ralph had to juggle many jobs which led to some major struggles. Dale Sr. was very successful on the track. Dale Sr. did anything to accomplish his dreams.

Dale Sr. had many important jobs in his life. Dale Sr. was a father of 4 children. Their names were Kerry Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Kelley Earnhardt, and Taylor Earnhardt. Dale Sr. was a racecar driver for a league called NASCARHe was a teammate and friend of many other drivers. Dale Sr. was a husband of 3 women.  He spent most of his career racing for Richard Childress racing. He also raced for Stacy racing and Rod Osterlund racing. To some he was known as The Intimidator

Dale Sr. had many struggles on his way to being a racecar legend. Dale Sr. didn't have as much education as most on the track but still was one of the best. He did not do well in the 90's though he won the Daytona 500 in the 90's he only got a few wins and was denied an eighth championship. He balanced four kids, married life and racecar driving and was still one of the best racers on the track.

Dale Sr. had many accomplishments throughout his racing career. Dale Sr. won a total of seven NASCAR Championships which tied the record that Richard Petty set. Dale Sr. finally won the Daytona 500 twenty years after he started racing. Five years after his death he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Dale Sr. did anything to accomplish his dreamsHe dropped out of school to pursue engineering. Dale Sr. kept racing at an old age and through hard struggles at the same time. Dale Sr. raced till 49 years old and still would have gone on a long time. He gave up the Daytona 500 for his son and teammate, Michael WaltripHe crashed and died protecting their places in the race. Michael Waltrip went on to win with Dale Jr in second.

When Dale Jr. was young Dale Sr. told Dale Jr. "Hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible." The quote is saying that driving a race car you better be responsible because you could hurt you or someone else which is the same with a rifle. I admire Dale Sr. because he shows me to keep doing what I love even when I am not successful. Dale Sr. kept racing even when he was not winning at all. He kept racing for ten years while not being successful.
