Ruby Bridges

by Sebastian brand from Brooklyn, New York in United States

Have you ever been bullied at school if you have, I doubt it was as bad as ruby bridges she is known for being the only black girl in a white school she was made fun of and tried to be scared off, and she didn’t give up.
She just stayed in school.

She was born in 1954 on September 8th. She went to school and showed extreme bravery by going to first grade for the whole year alone. She had to deal with people calling her slurs and bad words and she ignored it and just kept going. She went to school as the only black person to encourage other Black people to go to school and her mom encouraged her to stand up for her education and she ended up standing for her education and every other black person.
This shows how selfless she is.

Bridges was the eldest of five children born to Abon and Lucille Bridges. As a child, she spent much time taking care of her younger siblings, though she also enjoyed playing jump rope and softball and climbing trees.

This article proves how Ruby Bridges was a hero for not only her mother and herself, but all of Black people.
