Steve Nash

A hero is a person who you look up to. A hero is also your role model.

Ordinary Person: Steve Nash is an ordinary person because he had parents. He was born on February 7th 1974. He was born in South Africa but grew up in Vancouver. His mom was a Welsh woman and his dad was an English man. He is also an ordinary person because he went to school. In high school he played sports like ice hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. He got a scholarship. He got a scholarship to Santa Clara University. Steve Nash was thinking and then took the scholarship and went to Santa Clara university. He is also an ordinary person because he told his parents that he will do something great. Steve Nash was interested in basketball when he was in the 8th grade. He told his parents that he would become a basketball player.


Extraordinary Circumstances: One of Steve Nash's extraordinary circumstances is that he became a very great basketball handler. When Steve Nash was in university he always got a tennis ball and would start bouncing it around. While he was dribbling the tennis ball he never looked down. Another one of his extraordinary circumstances are that he was drafted to the NBA. Steve Nash was drafted in 1996 by the Phoenix Suns. The Suns picked him in the first round. He was the number 15th pick. His third extraordinary circumstances is that Steve Nash the first Canadian. He was the first Canadian to be drafted in the NBA,1st round with the 15th pick or lower.


Odds stacked against Steve Nash: One of Steve Nash's obstacles was when a doctor said that his NBA career would end early because of his injury. In the 2001-2002 season he suffered an ankle injury. After his injury, he came back with a lot of energy. The second obstacle is that the Phoenix Suns fans did not care about him. The fans did not like him in his first season. A few years later the Suns fans began to like him because he was a really good basketball player. His third obstacle is that in the 2007 Playoffs, Steve Nash got seriously injured. He got injured in the playoffs against the San Antonio Spurs. Steve Nash broke his nose by the edge of the broadcasters' table. Luckily, he came back to play in the playoffs.


Accomplishments: One of his great accomplishments is that he started to make a great foundation. His foundation is called Steve Nash growing Health in Kids Foundation. He began this foundation because he knows how it feel to be sick or homeless. His second great accomplishment is that that he won 2 MVP awards two years in a row. Steve Nash won the MVP awards in the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 season MVP means Most Valuable Player. He became MVP for two straight years because his stats were amazing. His third accomplishment is that he makes the NBA All-Star team. Steve Nash made the All-Star team for the very first time in his NBA career in 2001. In the 2006 All-Star weekend he competed in the PlayStation skills challenge. In the skills challenge, he set the record with the time of 25.8 seconds. In the 2010 All-Star weekend, he competed in the Taco Bell skills challenge and won.
