Spencer Stone

by Ryan Brandsen from San Diego, California in United States

You've heard of snakes on a plane, but what about terrorism on a train. Spencer Stone was just a normal tourist on a train from Amsterdam to Paris with his two lifelong friends. Although their trip was going great, a man named Ayoub El Khazzani decided to attempt a terrorist attack in the name of ISIS there on August 21, 2015. A hero must be brave and selfless, willing to help others in need to save the day or even a life. Spencer Stone was brave and selfless stopping a terrorist and saving hundreds of lives in the process making him a hero to everyone.

Ayoub El Khazzani boarded the train with intentions to kill in the name of ISIS. ”His attack, apparently inspired by ISIS, was thwarted by the bravery and quick thinking of several passengers, notably three young American tourists: Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone” (Scott A.O.). Spencer Stone and his friends stopped the terrorist on the train, saving the day, when the only intentions they had were to tour around France. They had no idea anything would have gone wrong but when it did they were ready. ”Another American, Spencer Stone, an off-duty soldier, tackled the gunman together with two of his friends after Moogalian was hit….Everybody just started beating the guy while Spencer held the chokehold until he went unconscious”(Historic World Events). On their way to tour around France they were encountered by Ayoub El Khazzani who was threatening all on the train. Although everyone's life was at risk, Spencer was able to subdue the threat and render him unconscious via chokehold, eliminating the threat and stopping the terrorist. Spencer Stone, against all odds, was able to stop an armed threat using nothing but his bare hands to knock him out.

Spencer Stone was able to save hundreds of lives that day while stopping a terrorist. On August 21, 2015 Ayoub El Khazzani threatened nearly five-hundred people by entering a train to Paris. ”Everybody just started beating the guy while Spencer held the chokehold until he went unconscious"(Historic World Events). Ayoub was a threat to nearly five-hundred people on a train from Amsterdam to Paris. Spencer was able to catch him off guard and tackle him put him in a chokehold and subdue the threat putting everyone's lives no longer at risk saving the day. It wasn’t an easy task for spencer to tackle him, Ayoub El Khazzani was carrying a lot of power and ammunition with him. ”On Aug. 21, 2015, Ayoub El Khazzani boarded a high-speed train en route to Paris, armed with a knife, a pistol, an assault rifle and nearly 300 rounds of ammunition”(Scott A.O.). Ayoub El Khazzani could have easily stolen the life of well over half of the population on that train. Because of Spencer’s actions absolutely no lives were lost on that train, but one man was left horribly injured after getting shot in the back of the neck. Spencer was able to eliminate the threat before the threat could eliminate and passengers aboard saving hundreds of lives from Ayoub El Khazzani terrorist intentions.

123595spencer stone2https://www.queerty.com/breaking-train-attack-hero-spencer-stone-repeatedly-stabbed-outside-of-gay-bar-20151008Spencer Stone was brave enough to tackle a threat armed with guns while he had nothing but his bare hands, being selfless enough to risk his life to stop a terrorist and save hundreds of lives. Ayoub El Khazzani was extremely armed ready to kill all in his way but Spencer stopped him as soon as he injured the first passenger, tackling Ayoub and subduing him with a chokehold until he went completely unconscious. Spencer Stone inspires us all to stand up to an evil force for ourselves but most importantly others and being brave enough to do so. If Spencer was never on that train we would have to remember August 21 as a day were a terrorist triumphed in killing hundreds, but because of his brave acts we can see it as a day were a good man stood up to a bad man and succeeded in doing so become a hero with his three friends .
