What made him so famous and his comic book characters so popular?

Stan Lee introduced complex, naturalistic characters who could have bad tempers, fits of depression, and vanity; they bickered amongst themselves, worried about paying their bills and impressing girlfriends, got bored or were even sometimes physically ill. The average reader could relate to the superhero because they had the same kind of worries and ups and downs. This was very different from all other superheroes being written during that time and set a new standard for comic characters.

What happened in his later life?

Over the years, Stan was widely recognized for his remarkable accomplishments, receiving the National Medal of Arts, being inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame and Jack Kirby Hall of Fame and being named a Disney Legend. From the early 2000s he was able to bring many of his superhero characters to life in motion pictures with the of help Disney and Sony. More than two dozen films were made. He continued to work, write and enjoy life and creativity every day up to end of his life—and the world is better for it.

What does Stan mean to me?

I liked the way he made his characters, where even though they are superheroes, they had the same personal problems as the rest of us. Stan Lee cared about the fans and readers and tried to stay humble and in touch by giving lectures and going to Comic Con conventions. His stories inspired people to pursue their dreams and to not let others push you down. And one more thing: Stan Lee was such a great man with so many dreams and he make those dreams come true.
