My entry talks about the universal of globalization (which is the spread of something worldwide) and the poverty that some people have to experience.  I think that it talked about her story and the people she's helped, which was something that had an impact on people's lives. She is a hero and she has helped with serious world issues that are important to people all over. She helped with poverty, which is something where people have lower opportunity, but by giving them books and things she helped them.

Susie

by Emma from Memphis, Tennessee in United States

Someone that I have always looked up to and tried to be like is Susie. Her name might not mean much to whoever is reading this, but to me and the peoples she’s met, she means the world to. Susie worked with my family. She helped take care of me when I was little. She was much more than someone that took care of me though. Susie was someone who as soon as you met her you liked her. She had a child of her own and she sent her to America when she was first born, because she wanted the best life her. She sacrificed her own family to help her daughter since she wasn’t able to move with her daughter. So, she sent her to live with her sister in the states. Once Susie was able to move here, she did, but not after years of not seeing her own daughter. She cared so much for her daughter that she sacrificed for her. Once she moved here, she finally got to see her daughter. She did everything with the thought of others first. She started to help my family when I was just a first born. I remember her from the beginning. She was always there for me and was like a second grandma to me. Even though she was now in the states she still cared for others first. All the money she would get, she would send half of it back to the Philippines for the children there. She ended up starting a library down there that she would send money and books to. She would get things from people all over to send down to the Philippines. She tried to go back and visit the Philippines when she could, and she would always bring things to give to the children and people there. My whole family was close with Susie, and even her daughter. She always put others before herself and was the most caring person I knew. I wish one day I can do something to impact people the same way she did. She passed away a couple of years ago, but the impact she’s left on me will be there forever.
