Ted Nugent

Many people think Ted Nugent is an outdoorsman and animal slayer kind of guy. Others know him for his hard core music. Ted Nugent was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1948. He has a lot of different kinds of occupations including writer, musician, and hunter. He has five childern and is still managing all of his occupations. He is an uncommon hero but he is my hero because he is an inspiration to others, he is a patriotic individual, and he is actively helping in the community.

During his lifetime, Nugent has inspired others by being a spokesman. He speaks at Drug Abuse Resistance Education programs telling people how bad drugs are for them. He says there are “natural highs” in life rather than using drugs. Nugent also inspires people with his own TV show. The show is about hunting in the outdoors and teaches people new things about nature or how things work in nature.

Ted Nugent is a very patriotic type of guy. That’s why he is part of the Freedom’s Angels Foundation. This program recognizes the sacrifice made by military people and their families. It is also a non-profit charitable foundation. To help out in this foundation you could donate your time, money, help in health clubs, or even recreational facilities in military hospitals. One of the projects the foundation is doing is building patios for the burned service members.

Nugent also is heroic because he helps the community. In fact, he has his own camp for kids called Ted Nugent's Kamp of Kids. The camp was started in 1989 and it is designed to bring kids into a higher level of awareness. The camp also works to get kids away from gangs, drugs, and playing excessive video games. The camp helps kids make better decisions in their life and gets them outdoors to enjoy wildlife. Camp directors say this is a win-win for the kids and everyone gets treated the same.

Nugent allows children to believe in themselves, dream big, and work to achieve these dreams. From starting a camp for children to being a spokesman for the D.A.R.E organization. Many people have benefited from what he has done. His inpiration to others, for his patriotism for our country, and community activism continues to flow down the line in generations. That is why I chose Ted Nugent for my hero.
