The Key to Courage
Courage comes from the Latin root cor, meaning heart
It’s the spark you ignite that gives you the strength to start
Many don’t know that doing what scares you grows you
And that it leads you through what you once feared to do
Courage is energy, a fire you ignite inside
Which grows much stronger the less you hide
You can dig yourself out of holes into which you fell
And learn to escape from your own mental cell
So don’t let fear tell you where you can’t go
You’re stronger inside than you know
Courage is a choice, not an innate trait
It means doing the things you fear and hate
Working instead of goofing off
Choosing to be bold instead of weak and soft
Courage builds confidence, which is not innate
Confidence is when you don’t mind making mistakes
For confidence is knowing that you’re okay
With not being good at things right away
Anyone who’s built anything great
Started with not knowing their ultimate fate
You have to be willing to live in your discomfort zone
To become someone whose great deeds are known
