THE WARRIOR

The Warrior

I am standing here and implore you to be

The very thing that exists in me

For as I look within myself

A fearless warrior is what I see

She does not lie, nor rests in peace

Or makes judgements upon my soul

But stays alert for the time to come

To fight against my foes

Robust and steady she watches ahead

For problems to unfold

And when the ‘strife of life’ appears

She’s resilient, strong and bold

She has no fear or worry

That will make her bend or turn

But uses all her resources

To defeat, wipe out and burn

For when the enemy reveals itself

She stares them in the eye

Then summons all her might at once

Charging to the battles cry

And so I say to you young men

Have courage throughout your day

To ward off slings and arrows

That will surely come your way

And build within you a tough defence

So you can forge ahead

And march over all your troubles

That cross the path you tread
