Pat Tillman was an extremely important person to me. He loved his job as an NFL player, but he didn't care about just himself, he cared about everyone! He wanted the best for everyone, so instead of becoming rich and being a football player, he gave up the money and became a soldier.

Born in San Jose, California, Tillman started his college career as the linebacker position for Arizona State University(ASU) in 1994. In the 1998 NFL Draft, Tillman was selected as the 226th pick by the Arizona Cardinals. Tillman turned down the offer of 3.6 million dollars after the September 11th attacks. He then joined the U.S Army to help protect his country.

Pat is my hero because he was a special person. He loved everyone and cared for evryone. Pat Tillman died in Afghanistan at a young age on April 22, 2004. He didn't even get to say his last words to his family and he didn't even die near them. Tillman was just an AMAZING person! Pat inspired so many people and I hope now a lot of people aren't self-centered and they will become a hero to someone else.
