Toru Iwatani was born on January 25, 1955. He taught himself how to design video games. In 1977, when he was 22, he joined NAMCO LIMITED, a computer company in Tokyo, Japan. He made Pac Man which came out in 1980, with four other people, after working on it for a year and five months. Pac Man was first introduced in Japan, where it was very successful. When the game was released to Europeans and Americans, it was successful also. Then Toru went on and created more games. He has made more then 50 games.
