Two halves of my Heart

This piece represents my parents, who I see as my true heroes. They
inspire me to grow, to work hard and to make them proud in everything I
do. I wanted this artwork to show not just who they are, but how their
differences make them complete each other- and me. My mum is done
in coloured pencil, which feels and looks soft and delicate, just like her
caring beautiful nature. While my dad is painted, with bolder, stronger
tones to show his protective and hardworking side. While they are not
perfect individuals, i think they do a pretty good job at trying to be good
examples for my brother and I. The contrast between the two mediums
reflects how they balance one another-one gentle, one firm-yet both
equally powerful in shaping the person I am today
