137322Walt Disney and his cartoon creation "Mickey Mouse"National Board of Review Magazine [Public domain]Throughout this essay, you will learn all about Walt Elias Disney, and everything he managed to achieve throughout his life. Walt Disney is known for a number of his achievements, one of the most popular ones being the creation of Disneyland. Walt Disney lived for 65 strong years and had passed in 1966. In his lifetime he had countless awards given to him, deservedly, and had so many successes that had surprised everyone, including himself. The amount of ways Walt Disney has changed the world is unbelievable. In this essay, you will learn specifically about the history of Walt Disney, his style of filmmaking, and the impact he had to the world as we know it today.

To begin, Walt Disney and his amazing career took off with his world-renowned company, “The Walt Disney Company,” in the year of 1923, just 22 years after he was born in 1901. There, he and his brother had made little films first recognized as the "Alice Comedies.'' Five years after he was making those films with his brother, he created the one and only Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse is such a distinct character that honestly, 95% of people know exactly what he looks like just from hearing the name. Mickey Mouse is everywhere, from pictures, to cups, to televisions, to phone cases, to bed sets, etc. Almost 10 years later, he created his first ever full-length film, famously known as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves,” which was a huge success. After this film was released, he realized he had so much more potential, so he moved studios to some place bigger and better. With all of the money he had received from Snow White, he had bought over 50 acres of land and began building a new studio there. Over the next decade and a half, Walt Disney Company had made several new films, some of which were Fantasia, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, etc.

Going on, the style of Walt Disney had truly no limits. He made everything from cartoons, to live action films, to both live action and cartoons films, to Disney Nature films. You name it, he did it; he did it all in the most efficient way possible. Before he died, he had worked on over 100 short films or movies, and successfully finished over 1,000 projects in total! He started out making little cartoon characters as a teenager. After that, he grew in his knowledge of drawing, and grew and grew and grew. His creativity was truly off the charts and unexplainable. He has influenced so many people with his drawings, shorts, movies, etc. Again, his cartoon business started, with a friend, called Laugh O Grams. Out of all the films he created there, he had only made $100 and strategically used it on one film rather than a bunch of new little ones. With this money, he spent it on the film titled “Alice’s Wonderland.” Mid-film, he went completely broke and had either lost everything that he had, or sold his work.

Walt Disney has created such a huge impact on the world today as we know it. I could not express to you in words how many lives he had changed. His name is known to almost any individual you ask on the street. Walt Disney created Disneyland, and since he has passed, more Disney Resorts were made around the world. There are two in the United States, one in Hong Kong, one in Paris, and one in China. Not to mention there is a whole Disney Cruise Line. His successes are greatly known about anywhere you go. Children are impacted by this from watching Disney movies all the time or possibly by watching Disney shows. Toddlers are more than likely to watch kid-friendly shows on “Disney Junior,” and teens are more than likely to watch shows on “Disney Channel” along with “Disney XD.” Additionally, you may or may not know that the Walt Disney Company actually owns the following places: ESPN, ABC, History, FX, A&E etc. He is more known to own Marvel Studios, which produced all the Disney x Marvel films; LucasFilms, which produced all the Star Wars movies; and just recently Disney bought 21st Century Fox, which produced The Simpsons.

Evidently, Walt Disney changed the world as we know it. He has affected normal, everyday people almost daily. His inventions, creations and growth is extremely mind blowing. He grew dramatically from the time he was a teenager to the time that he passed, and his growth from that point on is truly unexplainable. He has touched millions of families one way or another and has created a company that makes billions of dollars per year. Whether it was from Mickey Mouse Club House, or Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, he has most certainly impacted a large percentage of the world. As the creator of Mickey Mouse, and Disneyland, his impact has gone far beyond the cartoons he drew and the theme parks that he has created.

On my free time, I enjoy dancing with friends. This is a way to cope with my feelings while simultaneously having fun and making long lasting memories. I've been competing since about 2013, and have grown a lot. When I am not dancing, I am normally either in school, hanging out with my friends, or in my bed sleeping. In the future, I wish to have some job in relation to Disney whether its to be a ride coordinator, a dancer, a balloon maker etc.:)
