“No matter how good you get, you can always get better, and that's the exciting part.”-Tiger Woods-

Tiger Woods has been an icon in the world of golf since he was a child. From a young age until present day, Tiger Woods has defied the sport of golf. I admire Tiger Woods as a hero because he is an all around great person. He proves people wrong all the time by doing the impossible. Tiger Woods is my hero because he never gives up, he follows and accomplishes his dreams, and gives back to the community.

The first reason Tiger Woods Tiger Woods is my hero is because he never gives up. Since the age of two, he has been playing golf. He has dedicated his life to golf, and even through the hard times he still plays. He once said, “I’m trying as hard as I can, sometimes things don’t go your way, and that’s the way things go.” In 2006 his father, whom was his greatest idol, died. Tiger played a tournament a week later and won. He is the perfect example of dedication.

The next reason Tiger Woods is my hero is because he followed a dream and accomplished it. When he was a boy his only dream was to be a professional golfer. All of his days were spent on the golf course and at the driving range practicing. At the mere age of eight years old, he won the nine and ten year old Junior World Golf Championship. He is now one of the highest paid sports players in the world, not to mention one of the best golfers in the world.

The most important reason Tiger Woods is my hero is because he gives back to the community. Over the years Tiger has set up many charities that benefit children in the community. Tiger gives away substantial amounts of money each year to benefit education. He sets up golf camps and programs at schools who can’t afford them. One of his biggest accomplishments is the Tiger Woods Learning Center that takes children beyond the classroom to help them work toward new careers. Tiger once said, “I think it's an honor to be a role model to one person or maybe more than that. If you are given a chance to be a role model, I think you should always take it because you can influence a person's life in a positive light, and that's what I want to do. That's what it's all about.”

In conclusion, Tiger Woods is a great golfer, a contributor to his community, and a role model. He is my hero. Maybe one day, I will be fortunate enough to meet him.
