"I am trying to show the world that we are all human beings." This was a famous quote from my hero, Alvin Ailey Jr. Alvin Ailey Jr. lived from 1931 to 1989 and lived to be 58 years old before he died of blood Dyscrasia, a rare blood disease. His life was very fulfilled with great accomplishments.

Alvin Ailey Jr. founded the world famous Alvin Ailey dance theater in 1958. His opening the dance theater was a great accomplishment for him and the world. It was such a great accomplishment because he revolutionized the world of dance by making the first racially integrated dance theater. This was extremely important because the world had never had a place where people of all colors and races could dance together as a group. These are just a few things that came from the opening of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater.

Alvin also opened the Ailey school of dance in Manhattan in 1974, only sixteen years after he founded the dance theater. He was progressing quickly. He has inspired me because he progressed quickly and made extraordinary accomplishments such as opening the Ailey school of dance. When he opened the school he used it as a place where people of all colors could take classes during the day to improve their dancing skills and have a better chance of getting a dancing career. He was trying to give the world a better chance of accomplishing their dreams.

When Alvin Ailey made the first racially integrated dance theater that was one of his biggest accomplishments because in a world where people have problem with colored people or Caucasian people it takes a of courage to do something so big as to open a dace theater where people of all races can come because if people do not like being around people of different races and you open a dance theater where they can be there is a very likely chance it will crash and burn. This inspired me because letting people to have such great opportunities is an amazing thing to do with your life.

Alvin Ailey Jr. is my hero because he spent his life trying to make the dance world better for people of all colors and races. Then he opened the first racially integrated dance theater when no one else had the courage to. He took risks to accomplish his dreams and help people that would come in the future and have some of the same dreams. I cannot even imagine what the dance world would be like now if Alvin had not done what he had in the past. This is why i choose Alvin Ailey Jr. as my hero.
