CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS IS THE GREATEST EXPLORER OF HIS TIME. HE WAS BORN IN ITALY. HE EXPLORED FOR THE KING AND QUEEN OF SPAIN. HE FOUND THE NEW LANDS AND CLAIMED IT FOR SPAIN. THE KING AND QUEEN GAVE GAVE MONEY FOR THE NEXT FOUR TRIPS ALSO.


IN THE ARTICLE IT SAID HE BORN IN ITALY IN 1451 AND BECAME AN EXPLORER AND NAVIGATOR. COLUMBUS' FATHER NAME IS DOMENICO COLUMBO AND HIS MOTHER'S NAME IS SUSANNA FONTANAROSSA. COLUMBUS FATHER WAS A WOOL WEAVER. COLUMBUS DIDN'T HAVE EDUCATION. COLUMBUS MARRIED IN 1479. COLUMBUS HAD CHILDREN, DIEGO COLON AND FERNANDO COLON.

COLUMBUS SET SAIL TO FIND A QUICKER ROUTE TO THE INDIES WESTWARD. HE ASKED THE KING AND QUEEN OF ITALY FOR MONEY TO SET THE SAIL. HE USED THE THREE SHIPS THE NINA, PINTA AND SANTA MARIA. IN 1492 THE SHIP SANTA MARIA WRECKED WHEN IT HIT A REEF. COLUMBUS HAD TO LEAVE THE 43 MEN CREW.

IN OCTOBER 12, 1492 COLUMBUS LANDED ON AN ISLAND IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA. HE CLAIMED THE LAND FOR SPAIN. HE WANTED TO FIND THE GOLD, JEWELS, SILVER. COLUMBUS MADE THREE MORE VOYAGES TO THE LANDS HISPANIOLA, DOMINICA, TRINIDAD, VENEZUELA, MEXICO, HONDURAS AND PANAMA.

COLUMBUS' PLACE, DATE OF DEATH, MAY 20 1506, AND BURIAL IS SPAIN. THE AUTHOR SAID THAT AN ITALIAN CALLED AMERIGO VESPUCCI SAILED TO THE NEW WORLD. IN 1504 HE TOOK THE INFORMATION ABOUT HIS FOUR VOYAGES AND SENT THE INFORMATION TO A FOREIGN MAPMAKER.

IN CONCLUSION, COLUMBUS WAS A GREAT EXPLORER BECAUSE HE SAILED HIMSELF AT NEARLY 17 YEARS OLD THAT'S WHY HE IS THE GREAT EXPLORER. HE FOUND THE ISLAND AND HE CALLED IT THE WEST INDIES.
