To me a hero is a person who goes against the rules to overcome the problems. A hero is a person who fights for rights and never gives up. It doesn’t matter how dangerous or the consequences this means. A person who fights for justice and a person that is never afraid of doing something new. A hero is a person who is always thinking about her country. A person who can save us from unfair laws or from death. A hero is a person who will always be in our minds.
My hero is Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz because first of all she was very intelligent. Also she was very brave because she decided to talk about equality between men and women. She wasn’t afraid of what reactions the people might have about her or what the people were thinking about her. She was just thinking about learning more and more things. She was very strong and she hated the idea that knowledge was just for men. She fought against unfair laws. I think she was a great woman, because she was strong, and she had a lot of qualities: she was patient (except on knowledge), respectful, intelligent, honest, responsible, and more.
Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz is my hero because she broke the silence that was expected of every woman. Juana Ramirez de Asbaje was born in Mexico in 1648. She was born with a mother that didn’t know how to read or write and her father was never with them. She was very intelligent. She was always trying to learn something new. She learned to read at the age of three. She decided to cut off most of her hair and to wear boy’s clothing so she could study at the University of Mexico. But her mother didn’t let her go because of her age. She was desperate because she wanted to learn more and more, so she taught herself Latin in a few lessons. Everyone was surprised because of her intelligence because everything she knew was self-taught. Everyone was surprised, first of all because she was a lady. She also wrote several books of mathematics, music, poetry, theology and others.
Years later she joined a convent where she was expected to be for the rest of her life. There in the convent she continued witing books. Then she started to have problems with jealous men. She never gave up because of the bad things they told her. She always defended the right to education for women. Then she died because of a plague.
