On September 11th, 2001, a day that scarred the hearts of many, many Americans, as 3,000 innocent US citizens were killed in act of cold blood. But officer Moira Smith, a veteran of 14 years, helped save trapped people stuck inside the World Trade Center. Moira Smith was a true hero, and that is why i am writing about her, to give her the appreciation she deserves. I am writing about her for the actions that she did during 9/11, but i am also writing about her heroic actions as a veteran, and during her career in the NYPD.
Office Smith was a great leader. She was because she was an excellent role model for the people who looked up to her, and the people who she led. She was also very selfless, as she lost her life in the doom of the World Trade Center, without even thinking twice about going in. Also, she served as a veteran. Serving as a veteran takes a lot of guts. The fire on the battlefield, the rush of adrenaline while serving your country, and the pride of making sure the ones you love are safe, and that is why Officer Smith is a leader.
Moira was married to Jimmy Smith, and they had a young daughter, Patricia Smith. She went into the Trade Center once, but never came out the second time. She gave her life for the people, and she truly deserves the title of an NYPD Angel. She lost her life on September Eleventh, in 2001. She saved people from the fiery coffin that was the World Trade Center, and as she went in and saved, but as the building shifted, she was trapped inside, and now can only be remembered. My hero lived in NYC, and was born on February 14, 1963.
Moira made a difference drastically, as she was a veteran of 14 years, and served on the NYPD police force. She has even earned the title of an NYPD angel, because of her heroism on the day of September 11th, 2001. On this day, many people lost loved ones, or their own life. But Officer Smith had tried her hardest to save everyone she could, and in the end, she had lost her own life. But she died doing what she loved, and the people who she saved shall always remember the kind woman who saved their life that day.
During her career in the NYPD, she had most likely faced many other dangerous situations, as it is in the job. But she had never faced anything as drastic as 9/11. As the building blazed, scorched, cracked and crumbled, Officer Smith couldn't just stand around and watch. She saved the lives of many people, which is why I'm writing about her. Thank you for reading this tribute to Moira Smith, as she is truly my hero.
