Miyuki Takahashi

by Marina from LaGrangeville

Do you have more than one hero? Some people might do, like me. I had so many choices. I had my mom, my dad, my dance teacher, my friends and many more. But I have one very important hero to me. She is my aunt, Miyuki Takahashi. She worked at Japanese television stations and traveled to many places. She worked every day of her life until she died on August 28, 2008. The qualities that I admire her are she was selflessness, and kindness.

My aunt, Miyuki Takahashi, was born in Japan in Saitama prefecture. She had one older sibling, my father. She lived with my father, grandma, and grandpa. She went to a religious preschool for 3 years. Then she moved on to elementary school for 6 years and middle school for 3 years. In high school she went to an all girls high school for 4 years. Then she went to college.

After all of her education was completed, my aunt went to live in an apartment in Tokyo. She worked at the NHK broadcasting station for many years. She traveled around the world to make commercials for the international stations as well. After many years, she transferred to Fuji station for her rest of her career. From then on, my aunt worked there every single day nonstop. I never saw her again until I saw her at her own funeral.

My aunt impacted me so many ways. She was always thinking about us before she thought herself. She always got us things before she got herself things she wanted and I always felt bad. I always told her not to get any more stuff but that didn’t really work out well. But it just tells everyone that she loved the people around her. Also she was kind to everyone. When people came to the funeral, many people said that her sudden death was unbelievable. Many people said she was a very kind person and she never did anything to anyone. Everyone was in shock. But I was glad to hear that my aunt was someone everyone loved to be around.

My aunt was an impact to my life and to many others. She was kind and always thought of other people before herself. Everyone looked up to her and loved her so much. She never gave up on things and she always thought that something could always be better. My aunt is my hero to me and I’m proud to call her my hero.
