Princess Diana 19 years ago (http://people.com/royals/death-of-princess-diana-1 ()) |
"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself" ("Joseph Campbell Quotes"). Princess Diana represents this quote because she is one human who would put other people before herself. Princess Diana was the wife of Prince Charles who was recognized for caring for ill children in the hospital and families in need. She also provided shelter for homeless and took care of many children who were facing battles in their lives. According to Biography.com, "She devoted herself to her sons and to such charitable efforts as the battle against the use of landmines" ("Princess Diana"). Princess Diana made this world by making a difference in a child's life, making them feel loved and sharing their pain. She didn't take things for granted and always kept a smile on her face even when she wasn't going through the best times in her life. As a courageous and selfless person who cared enormously for the environment and the good of the people, Princess Diana was a hero who never turned her back on a child or family in need.
Princess Diana was courageous because she said how she wanted to be considered as a champion who never gave up. "During her eleven-year marriage to Charles, Prince of Wales, Princess Diana lent her celebrity to numerous charities and humanitarian causes, including the abolition of land mines and support for AIDS patients. Following their divorce, she continued to work for her favorite causes and to introduce her son William, England's future king, to meaningful philanthropy and social activism" ("Diana, Princess of Wales"). This proves that Princess Diana believed in doing the right thing and made sure her children followed her footsteps. She dedicated her precious time to help others and not worrying about her own stressful life. She not only helped children but also overcame social issues: "She became involved in social issues such as homelessness and drug abuse, visited leprosariums in Nigeria and Indonesia, shook hands with patients in an AIDS ward at a Middlesex hospital, and even comforted victims of an Irish Republican Army bombing in Northern Ireland" ("Diana"). This shows that Princess Diana truly cared about the world's social issues and was willing to do whatever it took to end it. Princess Diana made little things in life turn into greater achievements.

Princess Diana was selfless because she was one human who made a huge impact on society even when she was going through difficult times. She would do anything for a child: "As the honorary president of Royal Marsden Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, perhaps her most remarkable contribution was her willingness to hug and hold patients and their caregivers and to establish rapport with ailing people, to chat, to laugh, to go beyond the obligatory rounds that are the expected duties of the royals"("Diana, Princess of Wales"). Princess Diana came from a wealthy background, she wished to help those who needed help, prosper by providing resources that many people lacked. This demonstrates her selflessness because she did not think twice about donating money. She recognized the assistance needed by the impoverished and ill and went out of her way to make sure that they were benefited as much as possible. Even during her marriage she would take up responsibilities: "During her marriage she took up the cause of AIDS/HIV patients and their caregivers, becoming a patron of the National AIDS Trust and a frequent visitor at hospices, clinics, and nursing homes. Working with the Leprosy Mission, she brought world attention to leprosy and its sufferers" ("Diana, Princess of Wales"). This shows that Princess Diana would take out her time to go see these ill children and care for them. Princess Diana was more than just selfless she had been admired for her special traits and many contributions to society.

She gave shelter to a homeless lady (http://www.howtofeelgood.org/princess-diana-tribut ()) |
Princess Diana stood out because she was courageous and selfless which made her an angel protecting the people in need. Princess Diana was an inspiration because she took her time to go and visit ill children in the hospital and considered it a priority. "She often stopped by an AIDS hospice in London to pay unofficial, unpublicized visits to the residents. It was not unusual for her to keep in touch with some of the people she met as a result of her work; she might send a brief note recalling a particular encounter accompanied by a framed and signed photograph of her with the person to commemorate the event" ("Diana"). I consider Princess Diana an angel because she has made so many sacrifices for children, families, and even in her own life. People should really know how important she is and how she isn't an unworthy princess who takes things for granted but she is a princess who truly deserves royalty because of all the challenging problems she has fixed for the environment. Even though Princess Diana passed away, she is still an inspiration because she has done so much for our society that encourages people look up to her actions and do the same.
