| Steve Irwin and Croc friend Tribute from BBC |
My hero is not just any hero. He is one of the best and even better than best—he’s simply amazing. He was one of those people who takes risks, faces the threat of death, hazards, adventures, and was accustomed to danger. He was an animal lover, a conservationist and a young 44-year-old Australian known as “Steve, the Crocodile Hunter.”
The reason I picked Steve Irwin is because he didn’t think of himself and he is different and will never be yesterday’s news. Whenever I watched his shows, I was just astonished! Sometimes I thought he was going to get seriously hurt. When he fought or wrestled with dangerous animals, it just showed me that he was brave, courageous, bold and heroic. He really tried to show how animals are a special species.
When I heard that he died, I was just heartbroken. When I watched the news they said that his heart was pierced by a stingray. Right then, I felt a piece of my own heart taken away from me. I felt bad for his family and his father. He taught the world so much about animals of all kinds.
Whenever I watched his shows it made me cry and I felt like I actually knew him. One of my lifelong dreams was to meet him, but I can’t do that now because he is in heaven. I suppose I could speak to him with prayers or when it’s time for me to float up in the clouds. Anyway, he will always be in my heart and I know in the hearts of people all over the world, and even the animals he tried to show us that are all part of this earth.
