Theodore Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt is a hero because he helped preserve nature and helped children in need. He is a hero to me and many other people.

Theodore was born in New York City on October 27, 1858. He was the second of the four children of Theodore and Martha Roosevelt. During Theodore’s early life he would play many sports. He also tried to preserve nature and he would help animals that need it. There were baby squirrels and they needed to be fed. He would go out in his backyard every day to feed the baby squirrels. Theodore also had a museum when he was 9 years old and his collection went from 12 to 120 items. Clearly Theodore was an active child.

Theodore had some challenges through out his life. Theodore was very active but it didn’t help that he had asthma. Theodore played many sports such as boxing, track and field, horseback riding, and much more. Unfortunately because he wasn’t healthy he suffered from colds, stomach aces and lots of asthma attacks. He had many challenges as president. One is that he was scared of the Venezuela affair. Venezuela borrowed large sums of money from Europe. In 1902 the Germans, British, and Italians wanted their money back. Roosevelt was scared that the Germans were going to take Venezuela’s land. As you can see Theodore had many challenges throughout his life.

Theodore had many contributions. One is that he had a museum at the age of nine. By the next year his collection went from twelve (12) to 250. While attending Harvard, Theodore started Harvard’s track and field program. He also was the youngest president at the age of forty-three (43). While Teddy was president he was the first American to win the Nobel Peace prize. He wanted to make Americans lives better. As you can see their were contributions.

Theodore got many awards, honors and recognitions. One is that he won the Nobel Prize. He was also the youngest president at the age of forty-three. He was the president of a Bone and Crockett Club. Lastly he was the governor of New York his home sweet home. Clearly Theodore got many awards and honors.

Theodore had many character traits but I’m going to tell you about three. One trait is that he is very active. He active because he would always be playing outside. He played soccer, boxing, track and field, and horseback riding. He would go for long walks and hikes. Next is that he was determined. He was determined to stop bad politics and cheaters. He also tried to preserve nature and the animals that live in nature. These are some reasons why Theodore was determined. Lastly he was also a hard worker. He was willing to work hard long work days. He owed a ranch which is hard work. Theodore also worked hard to save nature, animals and politics. This is why Theodore was a hard worker. These are three of Theodore’s personal traits.

As you can see Theodore was a hero for many reasons. He’s a hero to me and many other people for many reasons. Is he a hero to you?
