The Wright Brothers

by Keller from San Diego

The Wright brothers were one of this nation's intelligent people and had contributed to a widely used mode of transport today. Through their live the brothers liked to tinker and make little toys.  "Orville and Wilbur Wright are credited with building and flying the first heavier than air aeroplane." (Pettinger) The brothers had proven that the impossible was possible; they hadn't had much to work with but made a working plane. Inventing takes a lot of work to get it just right and a lot of brains. Achieving such a feat is encouraging the brain to produce more and more thoughts. David Romanowski explains that, "The Wright brothers had invented the first successful airplane."(Romanowski) When someone has to invent something without previous experience of their type of project and to have it be a building block for other items like it takes a lot of brains. If two normal people had or wanted to attempt to invent something close to their airplane, they would have failed because of design or another flaw. When they were young the brothers used to tinker and think with toys; when they were adults they tinkered and invented their own airplanes and bikes.

The Brothers did not give up on their goal when all the odds were against them. The Wright brothers had to give their all and didn't have much time for other relations when they got older. "Until their deaths, the brothers were inseparable. They never married. Orville once said: 'You can't support a wife and a flying machine, too.'"(Dow) When they were at a smaller age they never did much with other kids and worked on little projects then they met the biggest project or their lives. They made the airplane even when Orville had gotten injured. Commentary 2: After Wilbur's death, Orville had fought to keep their patent on the plane until his untimely death in 1948. The Wright brothers have had many accomplishments that took many tries and a lot of hours, "1908 - Wilbur made over 100 flights near Le Mans, France; the longest one, on Dec. 31, a record flight: 2 hours, 19 minutes."(Pettinger) Always paying attention to what you're doing especially when your life is on the line and you are still working at what you're doing is very hard to do and requires massive amounts of concentration. While in their prime they worked nonstop to finish their goal, which requires a lot of dedication.

With all of their work they have done it still is looked onto today as a foundation of what this world can achieve. Change is hard but it still happens, "Brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright changed the course of the nineteenth century and beyond with their revolutionary invention, the airplane" (Noce). What was thought to be a crazy idea the Wright brothers pulled it off . Giving such an outstanding product proved to people that if you can set your mind to it you will be amazed with the outcome. Some people started their inventing career because of the Wright brother's accomplishments. While being great bike entrepreneurs they had kick started the revolution for another mode of transport. "The Wright brothers had invented the first successful airplane."(Romanowski) When the Wright brothers first began not many people thought they could get to their goal; what they did was truly inspiring for better features on the design and for minds to go invent the next big thing, whatever it may be. Giving an opportunity for a new way we look at things and create jobs is what makes them inspiring for what they loved to do and how they could get other people to benefit from it.

Throughout their life the Wright Brothers prove that hard work and determination can create a hero.
