"It is possible to fly without motors, but not without knowledge and skill" (Wilbur Wright). The 2 brothers used their techniques, cooperation and knowledge to accomplish their dream.  The Wright Brothers were aviation pioneers during the early 20th century, who were the first to accomplish manned, powered flight in a heavier-than-air machine on dec. 17, 1903 ("Wright brothers."). A hero must have an influence to other people or society, must be brave and willing to risk their lives for others.  The Wright brothers have had an huge influence on society and never gave up to be the first ones to successfully fly an aircraft.

The Wright brothers had an huge effect on society by successfully flying a plane. After this huge accomplishment the 2 brothers did not stop, in the next years they improved their aircraft. "In 1908, they sold the first military airplane to the U.S. Department of War; this same year Orville established several aloft records in excess of one hour" ("The Wright Brothers." ). Wilbur and Orville had there first plane sold just 5 years after the successful flight at Kitty Hawk. The invention of the plane lead to new battle techniques for the army and had major differences in battle. "Meanwhile, news of the Wrights' achievement had captured the imagination of European aviators. The frenzy increased in 1908 when Wilbur launched a tour to demonstrate a new Wright flying machine. Various groups in Great Britain and France showered the brothers with honors."("Wilbur and Orville Wright."). Inspiring more aviators in Europe, causing them to start there own business in aviation. These people were the starts of major companies that still exist today. The start of aircrafts causes effects on transportation, battling techniques and much more.

The Wright Brothers never stopped believing in their project and needed numerous attempts to complete their goal. Both of the brothers almost died while testing the newly designed flying machines. "The brothers were universally hailed as the first to unlock the secrets of flight through their determination, experimentation, and inventiveness."("The Wright Brothers."). The success wasn't easy at times, people tried to steal ideas and the plane was still very unstable. During one of their tests "The 27-mph wind was harder than they would have liked, since their predicted cruising speed was only 30-35 mph. The headwind would slow their groundspeed to a crawl, but they proceeded anyway. "(United States. National Park Service.). The average speed of the plane would have been 3-7 mph, which is way too slow and could lead to a devastating crash. But the brothers proceeded anyway and this was the test that that was the first flight.

In conclusion the Wright brothers contributed to the discovery of the aircraft and have risk their lives doing so. Because of their determination, perseverance and knowledge they were able to complete their dream. The Wright brothers are an inspiration to me because they show multiple examples of a hero.  "Wrights were the first to accomplish manned, powered flight in a heavier-than-air machine." Without the inventions of the Wright brothers distant traveling would have not been possible. Both knowledge and skill helped the brothers be the first ones to accomplish fight.
