Description
I chose Chance the Rapper as my local hero. Over the past year, Chance has created an organization known as The Social Works. So far this year Chance has donated over 4 million dollars. Not only has he helped raise money for Chicago schools but he also led a march throughout Chicago with a free concert to get people to vote for the 2016 presidential election. He also donated over 30,000 backpacks to Chicago students. The first monday of every month he has 'Open Mike' where any Chicago student with a student ID can come perform for him and the rest of the community also recieving feedback for free. He has organized many other events and I feel like he is a great leader.
