Anna Chromy created this sculpture as a symbol for sharing for the Peace Foundation. Perhaps the most famous story of Saint Martin tells of him as an officer in the Roman army riding through Amiens. Upon seeing a beggar shivering in the cold, Martin is said to have taken his own cloak and split it in two with his sword, giving one half to the freezing man.
